We are getting ready for our upcoming training for therapists who work with individuals and couples who have been affected by sex or love addiction. CCRT-SLA stands for "Certified Connection and Recovery Therapist specializing in Sex/Love Addiction" and the training is based on my book, In Tandem. I'm so excited to share it with you! If you're interested in joining us, here is all the info you need!
The publishing process took longer than I expected, but after years of research, practice, and writing, I’m excited to announce the arrival of my new book, In Tandem: Recovering me, Recovering us! If you are a current client, you are welcome to purchase a copy in the office, or you can purchase it on Amazon. I look forward to hearing what you think!
(And once you’ve had a chance to read it, if you would feel comfortable posting a review on Amazon I’d really appreciate it!)
As promised, here are the slides from yesterday’s presentation. Thank you to those of you who joined us!

In Tandem: Recovering Me, Recovering Us
by Mark H Bird, PhD
Connection is at the heart of recovery. For those who are in a relationship, that means you must develop individual recovery as well as the ability to work in tandem with your partner to establish couple recovery tools that bring connection.
For those not in a primary relationship, connection is just as critical, and requires you to work in tandem with family, friends, higher power, etc. Research suggest that connection is essential to long-term recovery, and it requires many skills to stay connected, like honesty, communication, trust-building, accountability, empathy, and many others. This book provides a step-by-step process for developing the skills for connection in tandem with solid individual recovery skills.
Want updates when the book launches?
