I enjoy helping people work through challenges and heal issues that are stopping them from feeling peace. I have a strong sense of respect for each of my clients and believe they are experts in their own lives. Each individual will have their own unique solution as each has their own unique situation. I work to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment for my clients and can offer tools that help them better understand and process issues they are dealing with.
I offer individual and couples counseling, specializing in addiction, especially sexual addictions. I work both with addicts and with partners of addicts. I run groups for females dealing with sex and love addictions, couples dealing with sexual addictions, and female partners of sex addicts.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Clinical Director for the Institute for Connection & Recovery. I started working with Healing & Recovery in 2013. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Prior to working at Healing & Recovery, I helped to facilitate a 12 step group for spouses of addicts through a religious family service program for four years. I volunteered with the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department from 2011-2017, originally working as an assessor in their Prostitute Diversion Initiative program, and then also as a presenter for the STOP (Solicitors, Traffickers, and Offenders of Prostitution) school, teaching the sections of the program on pornography addiction and sexual addiction. I have presented at multiple professional conferences covering local to international levels, including ACA, TAMFT, and LCAP conferences. I co-founded the Healing & Recovery model of therapy, detailed in a two-volume set of books, the first of which is In Tandem. Volume Two is set to be released in September 2018. The other models of therapy I am most familiar with are Emotionally Focused Therapy and Collaborative Therapy.
I grew up in Massachusetts and have also lived in New York, Washington, Idaho, Rhode Island, and now Texas. My husband and I moved to DFW in 2005. We have been married since 1997 and have six children.
