Dr. Kinsey Pistorius specializes in therapy for distressed couples and families, parent-child relationships, adolescents/young adults, and sexual abuse/trauma. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas, attended The University of Texas at Austin where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology, and earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Houston Clear Lake. Kinsey worked for The Children’s Assessment Center in Houston for three years providing therapy for sexually-abused children and their families. She left to pursue her doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Brigham Young University. While in Utah, Kinsey worked for the BYU Comprehensive Clinic and LDS Family Services providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families in the community on a variety of issues. In addition, Kinsey is an AAMFT approved supervisor and supervised graduate-level therapists at BYU and at The Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston. Kinsey previously conducted a private practice in Houston, but has since moved her work to the Dallas area where she now resides with her husband and four children.
